A.C.E. JC2 H2 CHEMISTRY INTENSIVE REVISION SERIES

At MY CHEM CAFE, we do not offer crash course such as June holiday intensive programme, as we believe that students need time to assimilate knowledge they learn. Hence, we offer a 3 month intensive revision programme (June to August) followed by ‘A’ Level revision (September to October) to help students prepare well for the coming school’s assessment and ‘A’ Level examinations.

Key Objectives:

  1. To reinforce students’ understanding on all JC1 and 2 topics
  2. To make links across topics and enable students to apply knowledge in answering questions
  3. To identify and fill any gaps in students’ learning

Overview of the programme

There are 2 parts to this programme:

Part 1 – “Step Up” Intensive Revision Series (from June to August)

Part 2 – “The Final Lap” Revision for the ‘A’ Levels (from September to October)

Part 1 – “Step Up” Intensive Revision Series (from June to August)

For June, we would be starting on Organic Chemistry (covers 40% of the syllabus) as we understand that it is a major area of concern by students. Thereafter, we would doing Physical Chemistry (40% of syllabus) followed by Inorganic Chemistry (20% of syllabus). Other than topical revision, past years’ prelim papers from various JCs would also be given for practice and discussion in class.

Part 2 – “The Final Lap” Revision for ‘A’ Level (from September to October)

From September onwards, the focus of the revision would be on handling ‘A’ Level examination questions. Other than reinforcing key concepts learnt, examination answering techniques would also be taught in class. One of the key factors in getting a good grade in Chemistry lies not just in how well students know the subject but what the examiners require in an answer, knowing this can help students in sound time management for the papers.
