Mr Wong has helped me regain my confidence in Chemistry which i had lost when i got an E in Common Test 1. However, under his tutelage, I was able to pull up my grades to a B by Common Test 2 and an A by A levels. He was very through in going through the necessary concepts and even provided valuable hints that proved extremely useful for my final exam. Thank you Mr Wong for guidance!

I joined My Chem Cafe in the middle of my J2 year, at the recommendation of my classmate. At that point of time, I was desperate for help as I had been flunking Chemistry all the while in JC, getting Ss and Us for just about every test and examination. Mr Wong was a very patient and nurturing tutor despite my struggling in even the most basic of concepts, in particular organic chemistry. His classroom became a comfortable environment where I could ask any questions I had, even questions from tutorials in school, and he catered the lessons to tackle my and the other students Achilles Heels. Over the months leading up to the A Levels, my improvement was miniscale, and I did not pin much hope on doing well in Chemistry, but Mr Wong was encouraging nonetheless and did not give up on me. Eventually, I managed to get an A for the subject for the A Levels! It seemed like a miracle to me but I know the 180 degree turn in my Chemistry results were the fruit of Mr Wong’s patient teaching and guidance. And once again, thank you Mr Wong for everything! (-: I wish you well and hope that your tuition business will prosper and continue to bless other students as it did to me!
Mr Wong has a methodological manner of teaching which is relatively easy to follow. His worksheets are short, condensed and concise that is good for quick revision. He prepares questions with varying difficulties that will help you stretch your potential in chemistry. This is especially so in the revision classes closer to the prelim exams and A Levels in J2. Mr Wong is also a very dedicated teacher, who is willing to answer queries any students have via SMS or e-mail. Overall, it has been an enjoyable experience under his tutelage.
The lessons conducted were definitely easy to understand where you also provided additional information that would be beneficial to us. You also provided avenues for us to clear our doubts where we could contact you after lesson hours pertaining to questions we had encountered during our own revision. I found the explanations and examples of planning questions very useful too. The notes provided were effectively summarized with only key points that made it more convenient to refer to especially before examinations. Thank you once again for being a contributing factor to my results.
I was kind of a constant U grader in school, alternating between grade S and grade E. My mum then engaged Mr Wong and I actually started at a group tuition conducted by him. But honestly speaking, I felt my chemistry foundation wasn’t strong enough to be in a group tuition class. So I asked if he does individual tuition. So he does and on the first lesson he came, he planned out the whole schedule till the week we took the A level Chemistry paper. It helped a lot because the chemistry exams are now more focused on the understanding of the chemistry concepts and I’m glad I had individual tuition because I clarified ALL my doubts, down to the simplest concepts (sp orbitals etc) which came out during the paper! Many students complained they didn’t know how to do it and the question was 3-4 marks if I am not wrong. Im glad I am one of the few that knew how to attempt that question, and achieved a B for Chemistry!

As Science was one of my weaker subjects in lower secondary, I engaged Mr Wong as my Chemistry tutor in Secondary 2. Since then, he has built a solid foundation in Chemistry for me conceptually. His teaching style involves more understanding than memorising, and he would even go out of the syllabus to ensure that I have a well-rounded understanding of a certain concept. I also greatly appreciate all the key concepts and tips he went through with me in the days leading up to my O level examinations. This eventually allowed me to achieve an A1 grade in the O level exams.
