Mr Wong’s dedication to and passion for teaching Chemistry render him an excellent tutor who has been instrumental throughout my journey in JC.

Mr Wong’s teaching style is engaging and effective. His thorough and clear explanations are enhanced by the many diagrams and proofs he uses to elucidate certain concepts and formulae. Occasionally, he will also include videos about the development of certain theories and bring in interactive models to help us visualise chemical structures. He also includes real-life applications to make the content more relevant and interesting.

His investment in his pupils is further evinced by his enthusiasm for answering questions. Not only is he willing to meet us before and after lessons to resolve our doubts, but he is also ready to clarify problems during lessons by drawing out diagrams and using alternative methods of explanation. By asking questions to encourage participation, he also promotes a curious attitude and genuine interest in the subject. He also consistently promotes conceptual understanding over rote learning by linking newer concepts to more fundamental ones.

I am really thankful to have had such a great teacher like Mr Wong, and have no doubt that his patience and passion will inspire the many more students who come under his wing.
